こすりつける【擦り付ける】

〔なすりつける〕 wipe 《one's fingers on the wall》; 〔押しつける〕 rub; nuzzle.

●靴底の泥をマットにこすりつける wipe one's boots (clean) on a mat; wipe the mud off one's boots (on a mat)

・猫が私の足に頭をこすりつけた. The cat rubbed [nuzzled] its head against my leg.

●彼は額を畳にこすりつけるようにして伯父に借金を頼み込んだ. He practically went down on his knees [groveled] to his uncle for a loan.
